Paula P. Reid: A Compassionate and Experienced Therapist

Meet Paula P. Reid, Psy.D.

Dr. Reid is a licensed, award -winning psychologist who has worked in the mental health field for over thirty years.  Prior to opening Atlanta Health Psychology, Dr. Reid spent approximately fifteen years as a clinical psychologist and faculty at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City.  In addition to providing individualized treatment, Dr. Reid served as a clinical supervisor, a program director in outpatient treatment, and the externship coordinator for training psychologists at varying times.  Dr. Reid continues to serve as guest faculty in the Rehabilitation Department of Medicine at Mt. Sinai. 

Over the years, Dr. Reid has enriched her education with advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive remediation, brain based approach treatment, stress reduction and relaxation, and group work.  Dr. Reid earned her masters and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia.       

Dr. Reid’s mission is to enhance the well-being of adults despite loss and disability and neurological challenges.  She is also committed to assisting adults get a better night sleep and tackle insomnia. Dr. Reid stresses a holistic psychological approach that provides her clients with the tools and encouragement needed to live their fullest and most satisfying life.  Dr. Reid’s career has centered on a commitment to serving those struggling with comingled physical and psychological stressors.  Prior to joining Mt. Sinai, she worked with individuals with chronic illness and issues related to death and dying.   Dr. Reid also provided occupational therapy to help individuals adapt to disabilities in the early part of her career.
